How to submit your SaaS to directories

Start by finding your existing listings. Then pick a few directories your customers use, submit through each site’s own form, and save the public link when the listing goes live.

Look for an existing listing

Search each directory for your product name, website domain, and any former name. Open promising results and check which website the profile links to. Also look in your inbox for a previous submission or pending review.

If you find your product, save the public URL. Use the directory’s claim or edit process to fix an old logo, description, or website link.

Choose directories that fit your product

For a new release, look at launch sites such as Product Hunt and Uneed. For buyers comparing products over time, consider a software directory such as SaaSHub. DevHunt is aimed at people who build and use developer tools.

Check what each site accepts, whether it schedules launches, and what it charges for the option you want. Look at a few listings in your category to see how similar products are described.

Prepare one product profile

Keep your product name, main website URL, short description, logo, screenshots, and contact email together. Write the short description in terms a customer would use. For a bug-reporting tool, that could be “Record your screen and capture the steps that reproduce a bug, then share one link with your team.”

Start from the same facts on each form. Adjust the length, category, and screenshots to match the directory’s requirements.

Submit and keep the receipt

Use the directory’s own submission form. Complete any account or email verification it asks for, then save the confirmation and the date you submitted. If you schedule a launch, record the date separately so you know when to check back.

When the listing is live, open it while signed out. Check the product name and follow its website link. Save the public listing URL and the date you checked it.

Keep your listings and shortlist together

Add your website to Listing Run to check for public listings. Review any uncertain matches and record the listings or submissions you already know about. Save a run plan for the directories you still want to target, then submit on their own sites.

Start with the listings you already have.
